- Description:
- The Transportation and Land Use Committee will hold a meeting regarding the following issues: What can we do about through-traffic? How long will the Route 7 improvements make traffic conditions better? What can be done to improve the Leesburg Bypass during peak traffic? How can we slow traffic through our small towns? What can bus and/or rail transit do to ease future congestion?
The Loudoun Countywide Transportation Plan is being updated to answer these and many other questions about Loudoun’s future transportation system. The plan update will address a variety of planning, growth, and transportation issues in the County, such as:
■Transportation and land use plans of surrounding communities that affect Loudoun County
■Recent and proposed comprehensive plan amendments that could alter future traffic levels
■The need to look at unique corridor transportation issues including congestion, current and projected future travel patterns, feasibility and alternatives to increase capacity, and ways to reduce travel demand such as transit, carpooling, telecommuting and alternative land use patterns.
