LEESBURG, VA – Last night, thousands of voters across Loudoun and across Virginia made their voices heard in the Democratic Primary. With our nominees for Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, and House of Delegates, the Loudoun County Democratic Committee (LCDC) is more confident than ever about the strength of the Democratic Party heading into November.
Terry McAuliffe, Hala Ayala, and Mark Herring have obtained a clear mandate to lead our Democratic ticket in 2021. Represented in them are the boldest of ideas and the greatest of Virginia. With decades of combined experience in our communities, we know they are the best candidates for continued progress in Virginia.
We’d also like to extend congratulations to our new Democratic nominees in the House of Delegates: Kathleen Murphy and Irene Shin. They join an impressive slate of candidates that represent the face of Loudoun County.
Primaries demonstrate the beauty of democracy – an exchange of ideas within the party. They help us chart the best path forward, and the Democratic Party is stronger and more expansive thanks to the candidacies of Jennifer Carroll Foy, Jennifer McClellan, Justin Fairfax, Lee Carter, Sam Rasoul, Mark Levine, Andria McClellan, Sean Perryman, Xavier Warren, Jay Jones, and Jennifer Adeli.
LCDC thanks Delegate Ibraheem Samirah for his continued service to the citizens of Virginia. He has made a remarkable impact on the Commonwealth and Virginia and our communities are better because of his contributions.
