On November 17th, 2018, Jennifer B. Boysko won the Democratic nomination for the Senate District 33 Special Election with 82% of the overall vote. The Special Election for SD 33 will be held on Tuesday, January 8,th, 2019.
Delegate Jennifer Boysko has been serving in the General Assembly since 2016, winning her last race by over 68% of the vote. Jennifer has a long record as a tireless worker for Democrats, campaigning for virtually every Democratic candidate since 2003 in our region. During the 2017 cycle, Jennifer served as the House Democratic Caucus Finance Chair, raising hundreds of thousands to help elect the 15 new freshman members. Legislatively, she has worked to expand medicaid, fought for common-sense gun reform, and has been on the forefront for non-partisan redistricting and reproductive freedom. She has consistently stood up for working families and our new Americans to make Virginia a place where everyone can find success, no matter who you love, where you worship or the color of your skin. She has received an 100% rating from the Sierra Club, League of Conservation Voters, SEIU, AFL-CIO, and NARAL-Pro Choice VA. She has been endorsed by Congressman-Elect Jennifer Wexton, Governor Ralph Northam, and Attorney General Mark Herring. She has been an activist, an effective legislator, and looks forward to being the next State Senator from the 33rd district.
