LCDC Labor Committee Newsletter
The LCDC Labor Committee is an alliance of the Northern Virginia Labor Council and the Loudoun County Democratic Committee. Its mission is to organize and build an expanding local activist base to address and resolve issues of social and economic justice that adversely affect the needs and aspirations of working families in Loudoun County.
The Committee will develop and propose policy resolutions regarding such issues to the Loudoun County Democratic Committee for its deliberation and decision. Resolutions adopted by the LCDC membership will serve as a basis for alliance-building among Northern Virginia counties with their delegations to the General Assembly.
The committee values education and knowledge. We will conduct education sessions on Labor topics such as wage theft, workplace safety, corporate greed, worker rights, and raising the minimum wage. The committee will act as a conduit of information to and from the LCDC to expand education and participation.

Amazon workers make history

Bernie Sanders called the win “a shot in the arm for this country's labor movement,” while AFL-CIO president Liz Shuler said it “proves when working people unite in the fight for justice, anything is possible.” ALU president Chris Smalls demanded that Amazon “cease/desist any changes to work policies” and begin contract bargaining immediately.
