Loudoun Democrats Enter Final Days of Election
COMMITTEE NEARING COMPLETION OF TRANSFORMATIONAL YEAR
The Loudoun County Democratic Committee (LCDC) is entering the final days of the 2021 election in its strongest position in history.
The Loudoun County Democratic Committee has raised a record-breaking $56,000 in 2021, the largest fundraising haul by LCDC in a gubernatorial election year since its inception. To date, LCDC has outraised the Loudoun Republican Committee 2:1 in 2021 and dominates in small-donor donations with an average contribution of $41.
Drawing on an unmatched grassroots volunteer network, over 2,200 Loudoun Democrats have completed volunteer shifts with LCDC, and thousands more have taken action with Democratic campaigns. Since September 1, LCDC has built the largest peer-to-peer texting operation in Loudoun history, sending over 100,000 text messages to Democratic voters and beginning a new era of political campaigning in the county.
Through an innovative postcard campaign targeting high-potential voters, Loudoun Democrats directly inspired over 2,000 voters to vote in state elections for the first time and have sent an additional 20,000 hand-written postcards to Loudoun voters.
“2021 has witnessed the most significant investment in community action by the Loudoun County Democratic Committee in history,” said LCDC Executive Director Nick Gothard. “The progress we have made is unprecedented, and we truly are just getting started.”
