Loudoun Teachers and Staff are Entitled to Collective Bargaining

The Loudon County Democratic Committee has adopted a resolution supporting efforts to provide collective bargaining and a union contact on behalf of approximately 12,000 teachers and support staff (bus drivers, cafeteria workers, teaching assistants, etc.) serving nearly 84,000 students in the county.

Currently, employment contracts – including salary, cost of living, health care and other professional working conditions – are unilaterally determined by the Loudoun County Public School administration in cooperation with the School Board and offered as a take-it-or-leave-it proposition for employees.

The Loudoun Education Association is spearheading efforts to empower LCPS employees with collective bargaining, with a rally scheduled on Tuesday, Jan. 24th at 5:30 p.m. at the LCPS Administration Building. LEA asks those joining the rally to also attend the School Board meeting that begins at 6:30 p.m.

LEA and LCDC also ask that you show your support for rights of teachers and staff by signing the petition supporting their efforts to have collective bargaining.

Join us in standing up for the dignity of our teachers and the support staff who are entrusted with the wellbeing of our children.
