Loudoun County Democratic Committee Announces Kannan Srinivasan as Nominee for Virginia Senate District 32 

The Loudoun County Democratic Committee is proud to announce that Kannan Srinivasan has won the firehouse primary caucus and will be the Democratic nominee for the Virginia State Senate District 32 in the upcoming special election, set for Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

Following a rigorous primary process, Srinivasan emerged as the clear choice of our party’s voters, winning 2,698 of 6,065 total voters. He brings a proven track record of advocacy for our community, including his service as Chair of the Virginia Medicaid Board. Delegate Srinivasan has worked tirelessly to address the critical issues facing Loudoun County residents. 

LCDC Chair Liz Carter said “Srinivasan has been an amazing Delegate for Loudoun County and a champion for the members of our community. With his leadership and vision, we are confident he will fight for all Virginians in the state senate, and we look forward to his continued representation in Richmond.”

The Loudoun County Democratic Committee would also like to extend heartfelt gratitude to all the candidates who participated in this primary process. Each of them demonstrated a deep commitment to our shared values and a willingness to serve our community. We thank them for their hard work and contributions to this vital democratic process.

Here are the final vote totals:

  • Kannan Srinivasan – 2,698

  • Ibraheem Samirah – 1,288

  • Buta Biberaj – 823

  • Sree NagiReddi – 574

  • Hurannessa Fariad – 428

  • Puja Khanna – 254

As we look ahead to the special election, the Loudoun County Democratic Committee is fully committed to supporting Srinivasan in his campaign to represent District 32.
