JJ Singh the Nominee for Virginia’s 26th House District

Today, the Loudoun County Democratic Committee is proud to announce that JJ Singh has won the firehouse primary caucus and will be the Democratic nominee for Virginia House District 26 in the upcoming special election, set for Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

Singh emerged as the clear choice of our party’s voters, winning 745 of 1,839 total voters. He has demonstrated his commitment to public service through his time in the U.S. Peace Corps, at the White House Office of Management and Budget, and as an Economic Policy Advisor to Democratic Senator Chris Coons. He serves on the Loudoun County Economic Development Advisory Commission and as an elected member of the board of the National Peace Corps Association. A small business owner, Singh is committed to continuing the growth of Loudoun’s economy, lowering costs, ending gun violence, and protecting fundamental freedoms.

LCDC Chair Liz Carter said “Having worked with JJ in his role as Treasurer of LCDC, I have seen firsthand his leadership and tenacity. I know he will work tirelessly for a brighter future for all.”

The Loudoun County Democratic Committee would also like to extend heartfelt gratitude to all the candidates who participated in this primary process. Each of them demonstrated a deep commitment to our shared values and a willingness to serve our community. We thank them for their hard work and contributions to this vital democratic process.

  • Ibraheem Samirah – 323

  • Arben Istrefi – 280

  • Lakesha Gorham-McDurfee – 66

We are incredibly grateful to the many volunteers who made this election happen in an extremely short time frame. 

As we look ahead, the Loudoun County Democratic Committee is fully committed to supporting JJ Singh in his campaign. We believe he is the leader our district needs, and we look forward to uniting behind JJ Singh as our nominee for House District 26. Alongside Kannan Srinivasan as Senate District 32 nominee in the January 7 special election, we will continue to work together to build a better future for all Virginians.
