LCDC Condemns Supreme Court Decision Allowing Governor Youngkin’s Unjust Voter Purge

The Loudoun County Democratic Committee strongly condemns the recent Supreme Court decision enabling Governor Glenn Youngkin to carry out an unjust and politically motivated purge of thousands of Virginians from voter rolls within 90 days of an election. This decision undermines the fundamental principles of democracy and represents a disturbing attack on the rights of Virginia’s citizens.

Governor Youngkin’s voter purge disproportionately targets vulnerable communities and is a blatant attempt to manipulate the electorate by silencing voters likely to oppose his party’s candidates and policies. Such actions are not only undemocratic but also sow confusion and fear among eligible voters who deserve to be empowered, not disenfranchised, especially so close to an election.

The Loudoun County Democratic Committee remains resolute in defending every Virginian’s right to vote and denounces this attempt to undermine our democratic system. We urge Virginians to check their voter registration status by going to https://vote.elections.virginia.gov/VoterInformation/Lookup/status and go to their polling location and cast a provisional ballot if necessary.

All Virginia residents should speak out against this abuse of power and stand firm in protecting our collective right to participate in our democracy.
