Vice President Kamala Harris Endorsed by Virginia Delegation

The news on Sunday that President Joe Biden had decided to end his re-election bid was sad for many, myself included. Biden has been a transformational leader, probably the most impactful in my lifetime. I thank him for his work in getting us through the COVID pandemic, creating historic unemployment lows, reenergizing American manufacturing, expanding affordable health care, rebuilding the country’s infrastructure, lowering the cost of prescription drugs, providing student debt relief, making historic investments in combating climate change, working to protecting Social Security and Medicare, partnering with our NATO allies to ensure our security, and so much more. He has shown time and time again that he puts country above self and this was just one more example.

I celebrate Biden’s legacy of service and selflessness and I have full confidence in his ability to lead our country with wisdom and a steady hand for the remainder of his term.

Fortunately we have a wonderful leader to rally behind at the top of our ticket, Vice President Kamala Harris. She is a national leader and a proven fighter. She is already uniting and energizing the party and enabling millions of women and girls to dream bigger. I am delighted to share that as of this morning, the Virginia Delegation to the National Convention has unanimously voted to endorse Kamala Harris to be our 2024 Presidential Nominee!

 I know that when we focus and work together that we can make consequential and lasting change. I look forward to working with each of you in the coming months to organize, fundraise, message, knock every door and get every vote for this historic ticket and each and every one of our wonderful candidates.
