The Loudoun County Democratic Committee (LCDC) is now recruiting interns. Since its establishment, the LCDC Internship has risen in prominence as one of the most hands-on and empowering internships in Virginia and has attracted applicants from across the nation.

The internship will span several months with an anticipated commitment of five (5) to thirty (30) hours each week depending on availability and preference. Participants will assist the committee in our community and voter outreach efforts, integrating directly into the committee and taking the lead on projects within their track.

No matter your experience, we encourage everyone interested to apply for this opportunity! The last election cycle saw an increase of enthusiasm among young activists and the LCDC is cultivating and empowering our youth in Loudoun and beyond. We hope this opportunity allows cohort participants to explore their interest in local politics in a nurturing and supportive setting.

We will collaborate with you to understand what skills you wish to gain and design a program and assign tasks to give you the best possible outcome when it comes to tangible skills and industry connections.

Additionally, the LCDC will be happy to sign off on any volunteer hour forms, assist with obtaining academic credit, or provide letters of recommendation to any individual who completes the internship program.

  • Whether you’re not sure where to start or you want a little bit of everything, the General Campaigns track is the place to be! Get a broad overview of campaign opportunities and assist in a variety of tasks.

  • For the organizers, party planners, and social butterflies. Learn the details on campaign outreach, volunteer organizing, and more.

  • Assist the Committee in raising money, planning fundraisers, and develop strong finance management skills.

  • For those that spend more time on Threads or Instagram than anywhere else, consider jumping into the Communications & Digital track. Assist in getting out the Committee’s message, develop multimedia content, and craft digital systems to elevate our work.

  • Good data and insightful analytics are the backbones of success. Analyze and organize large swaths of multivariate data and support the work of the Committee through cleaning and research.
