SD32 UNASSEMBLED CAUCUS

Now that State Senator Suhas Subramanyam is moving on to Congress (congrats, Suhas!!!), LCDC will be running an unassembled caucus, aka “firehouse primary”, on Saturday, November 16, 2024, 9 AM to 4 PM, to determine a nominee for the Special Election to fill the State Senate District 32 (SD32) seat. Virginia doesn’t run primaries for Special Elections, so the parties have to determine their own nominees. If you are a Democrat who is registered to vote in SD32 (if you don’t know, check here), we invite your participation.

The unassembled caucus will be conducted at five locations across SD32, and you may vote at whichever one is most convenient for you (location map):

  • Sterling Community Center, 120 Enterprise St., Sterling, VA 20164

  • Moorefield Station Elementary School, 22325 Mooreview Pkwy., Ashburn, VA 20148

  • Cedar Lane Elementary School, 43700 Tolamac Dr, Ashburn, VA 20147

  • Madison’s Trust Elementary School, 42380 Creighton Rd., Brambleton, VA 20148

  • Hutchison Farm Elementary School, 42819 Center St., South Riding, VA, 20152

Voters will be expected to fill out a Voter Eligibility Pledge upon arrival at the voting site in order to participate. The Pledge states that you are registered to vote in SD32, that you will support the winner of this caucus and will not support any candidate opposed to our nominee in the Special Election or participate in the nominating process of any other Party for this Special Election, and that you consider yourself to be a Democrat and believe in the principles of the Democratic Party. You may arrive anytime between the hours of 9 AM and 4 PM, vote, and leave.

The filing deadline for Candidates has passed. The following candidates have filed to run:
